MAIR AND THE CHICKENS
|
Mair’s father owned a large garden at the bottom of the street where they lived. It was not the little garden at the back of the house where Tortie the tortoise lived, but this was a big garden where Mair’s father grew lots and lots of things. He also kept chickens. Mair loved this garden and often went down there to play. It had a big gate which swung open, and when Mair was inside the big garden she could pretend to be a jungle queen or a warrior fighter.
